What would
Scooby do? Well for mushers Paul
Gebhardt and
Sebastion Schnuelle the answer seems to be, RUN! The lead pack has made it into
Rohn on the west side of the Alaska range and it appears that these two mushers are playing the rabbit strategy this year hoping to put enough distance between themselves and the rest of the field to pull off a win. They both blew through the checkpoint while number 3 Lance
Mackey and the group of 6 or 7 that has attached themselves to him rested. The next big group to pull in has
Swenson, King, and
Buser (13 wins between the 3 of them) and other perennial contenders. By tomorrow the picture will begin to become clearer as they get further down the trail. Race standings available at
Iditarod.com also check out the video clip.
