A New Years Eve Funny

Bono, lead singer of the rock band U2, is famous throughout the entertainment industry for being more than just a little self-righteous. At a recent U2 concert in Glasgow, Scotland, he asked the audience for total quiet. Then, in the silence, he started to slowly clap his hands, once every few seconds. Holding the audience in total silence, he said into the microphone, 'Every time I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies.' A voice with a broad Scottish accent from the front of the crowd pierced the quiet... 'Well, foockin stop doin it then, ya evil bastard!'

Thx Rick

That’s funny, well not funny, but yeah that’s funny!

Heard the other day that over the years America has contributed over 1/2 trillion dollars to Africa. Guess what, the country is poorer now than when we started. Most of the funds get funneled into the theocratic governments, which move the money into their Swiss bank accounts. People are better off donating to charities that do a better job getting to things these Africans need on the ground.

The problem with Africa is the fact the the countries are the remnants of western colonialism and have no relation to the nations that inhabit the place. Untill the continent undergoes some sort of nationalization the sorry situation there will never change.
Excuse me I have the sudden urge to belt out " We are the World"
